Once the news of my pregnancy was out, I have been inundated with people asking if I'm carrying a boy or a girl. Well, at this point, we don't know yet. My husband and I are very much looking forward to the gynae's visit next week as the gender of our baby can be revealed if he/she cooperates during the scan. While there have been many speculations about the gender of our baby, most are based on old wives' tales and are inconclusive.
Some said that it's a boy because a boy with all the testosterone produced will take you down with him. Hence, that explains my pimple outbreak. There are also some who said that it must be a girl because a girl will tend to 'steal' the mother's looks. Conclusion: I've grown UGLIER.
Some said that it's a girl because mothers who are carrying girls tend to put on a lot of weight and I'll eventually balloon and look like a watermelon. Conclusion: I'm FAT and I've grown OUT OF SHAPE. (But isn't round a shape too?!)
Hmm… either way, they are not scoring any brownie points with me!
Nevertheless, whatever the gender may be, my husband and I are simply thankful for the little life that's growing in me right now. We just want the baby to be born healthy.
