Her First Present
Thursday, April 23, 2009
Recently, we bought our baby gal her first book – a cloth book. Basically, cloth books are meant to be interactive and they are supposed to give babies and toddlers a jump-start on learning. For instance, they'll learn to count from one to ten while they lift flaps, feel textures and play with the foldout playset. Both my husband and I strongly believe that cultivating a reading habit must start from young. That lays the foundation of a child's language ability, mental development and even conversational skills. Hence, we are starting our daughter with cloth books and hopefully, her first experience with books will be a delightful and enjoyable one that will in turn ignite her interest in reading. If there's one addiction that I want my daughter to indulge in, that will be reading!
