Are We Facing a Rudeness Epidemic?
Thursday, March 6, 2008
I was waiting at the lift lobby last evening after work when a young couple joined me in the wait. The lift door opened and we walked into the lift. Before I could hit the lift button, the lady said "Six" and continued with her conversation with her boyfriend without a word of thanks. I was absolutely peeved by her poor manners! Are we so preoccupied with ourselves these days that we lose touch with what good manners and etiquette are all about? I think it not only reflects badly on ourselves but also speaks volumes about our family upbringing. Is there someone you haven't thanked today? Don't hesitate to show your appreciation! I'm sure it's going to mean a lot to him/her!
